Kollel Offers Torah Study for all Levels
Serious Torah study, from the basic to the most advanced levels is the hallmark of the Kollel Avreichim of Toronto.
The small 15 - year old building on Coldstream Ave. in the Bathrust - Lawrence area of North York is bursting to the rafters with classes, programs, lectures, and people studying.
The heart of the Kollel is its full time and 5 or 6 part time members. These young men are follwing in the European tradition of supporting talented, newly married scholars who spend all their time studying and teaching. They receive housing and a stipend, in exchange for which they are expected to maintain their high standards of Torah and Talmud study, and impart it to others...view full article
Torah Study Spreads Westward
The study of Torah spread its wings westward with the recent opening of the community Kollel of Edmonton, Alberta. After a year of preparation involving international coordination, eight Avreichim and the Rosh Kollel arrived from Israel and the USA. The Kollel members were greeted warmly by Rabbonim and community leaders. Being there at hand to facilitate the smooth start was Toronto's own Rabbi Shlomo Miller of Kollel Avreichim.
