Hilchos-Yom Tov [Candle Lighting]
- Some have the Minhag to light the candles first and than make the Brocha (like on Shabbos).
- Some have the Minhag to make the Brocha first and than light.
- If you light first and make the Brocha afterwards on the first day you can strike a match and light (because you have not yet been Mekabel Yom Tov).
- However if you make the Brocha first you may not strike the match after the Brocha (because you are Mekabel Yom Tov by saying Shechayonu).
- You cannot light and have in mind not to be Mekabel Yom Tov since you said Shecayonu.
- If you do not want to be Mekabel Yom Tov with the lighting you should not Shecaytonu and be Yotze with the Shecayonu of Kiddush.
